Active Khata ("we", "our", or "us") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how Active Khata collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our mobile and web application.
1. Information We Collect
Active Khata is designed as an offline-first business bookkeeping and accounting application. The information handled includes:
Business & Financial Records: Customer details, supplier records, transactions, invoices, products, stock levels, expenses, and staff records that you enter into the application.
Device Information: Basic device identifiers required for offline local database management and device-specific sync operations.
Account Credentials: If you sign in using email or Google authentication, we store your profile email to associate your company data.
2. Google User Data & Google Drive API Usage
Google API Limited Use Disclosure:
Active Khata's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the
Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
When you choose to connect your personal Google Drive for automatic or manual cloud backups:
Scope of Access: We request access to https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. This restricted scope allows Active Khata only to create, read, and manage its own backup folder (Active Khata Backups) and files created by Active Khata.
No Access to Personal Drive Files: Active Khata does NOT scan, access, view, or modify any other files or folders in your personal Google Drive.
Data Storage: Backup snapshots are encoded in structured JSON format and uploaded directly from your device to your personal Google Drive storage.
No Third-Party Sharing: Your Google user data, credentials, and backup files are never transferred, sold, or shared with third parties or external advertising networks.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your information exclusively to:
Provide local bookkeeping, invoicing, inventory, and expense management.
Enable optional automated and manual backups directly to your personal Google Drive account.
Synchronize business data across your authorized devices via encrypted cloud backend (Supabase).
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored locally in an encrypted SQLite database on your device. When cloud sync or backups are enabled, communications are encrypted in transit via industry-standard TLS/SSL protocols. Only you and authorized personnel with your business credentials have access to your records.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
You maintain complete ownership of your data at all times:
You can delete transactions, accounts, or businesses directly within the app.
You can delete your Google Drive backup files at any time either from within the Active Khata backup manager or directly from your Google Drive.
